Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Thessaly in 2018, followed by a Master of Science in
Laboratory Animal Science from RWTH Aachen University in Germany, completed in 2022. She is certified
as a Laboratory Animal Science Specialist by FELASA (covering EU functions A, B, C and D) and has also
completed training in Project Management at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2023.
She began her career at the Experimental Educational and Research Center of ELPEN in 2018 where she
progressed from Veterinary Intern to Designated Veterinarian. Currently serving as Director of the Animal
Care and Use Program at Athens LifeTechPark, where she oversees all aspects of preclinical research
involving animal models. Her role includes ensuring regulatory compliance, providing input on study design,
and coordinating protocol development and ethical review, with a strong focus on animal welfare.
In addition, she serves as a Deputy Member of the National Committee for the Protection of Animals Used
for Scientific Purposes and is a peer reviewer for the journal Laboratory Animals. She is also a lecturer in
the Laboratory Animal Science course Care and Use of Laboratory Animals: Mice, Rats and Zebrafish,
organized by the University of Crete in collaboration with the Institute of Molecular Biology and
Biotechnology (IMBB) at FORTH.
