Dr. Maria Chountoulesi (Pharmacist, MSc, PhD) graduated in 2015 from the Department of Pharmacy of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) (Pharmacy degree), received in 2017 her master degree in “Industrial Pharmacy” and subsequently in 2020 her PhD diploma in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology, from the same department. From 2020 till today, she is a Post-doctoral researcher in the Section of Pharm. Technology of the Depart. Pharmacy (NKUA), while from 2022 till today she is also working as Intellectual Property & Research Liaison Officer in pharmaceutical industry, in the OFET Group of Pharmaceutical Companies (Uni-Pharma SA & Intermed SA), with responsibilities the coordination of Intellectual Property portfolio, such as patent drafting & patent searches, as well as the coordination of collaborative research projects with academic institutions. During her PhD, she has participated in research programmes, in collaboration with greek pharmaceutical industry. She has already published 31 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, 6 chapters in scientific books and presented over 40 presentations in national & international conferences, some of them have been awarded. She participates as inventor in three national patents and one PCT patent application. She has been awarded with PhD Scholarship, implemented by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), as well as with Erasmus+ Traineeship Fellowship and with the 2022-Rigaku-ICTAC Promising Researcher Award, by the International Confederation for Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry. Her research interests focus on pharmaceutical nanotechnology, biomaterials, development and evaluation of drug delivery nanosystems, as well as pharmaceutics.
